Meet the Family

Hey there!  We are the Norton family, and we're so glad to have you join us.  Here's a little bit about us so you can get to know us better.

Trevor and I (Jordan) met when I was straight out of high school in 2013.  We got married in 2017 and bought a house right after I graduated from college.  We both were working full time - Trevor as a company truck driver and myself as a third-grade teacher.

In May of 2020, I quit teaching so we could pursue becoming foster parents.  In late October 2020, we were asked to foster twin three-week-old boys straight from the NICU. After months of fostering them, we adopted Scott and Axel on July 15, 2022.

Exactly one week after that we sold our first home, and exactly one week after that, we purchased our forever home with 10 beautiful acres to accompany it!

Our blog is here to tell the story of creating our homestead.  We will be learning as we go and plan on documenting everything.  We welcome you join along and enjoy the ride!
